Whether you are setting up a new business, want to apply for some government assistance to grow your business or need some help with your taxes, we are pleased to offer our experience in business assistance and advice on the Costa del Sol.

Here are some ways we can help you:

Self employment
Many people in Spain opt to register themselves as self employed (autonomo) rather than a limited company due to the setup costs being cheaper.

Firstly you will need to obtain your NIE and Social Secirity number. Then you will need to register at the tax office and then back to the Social Security to confirm.

Being self-employed, you will need to submit tax returns every quarter. Average Social Security payments of 220€ will also need to be made every month.

A personal income tax return will also be submitted each year, which can result in a refund or request for a balance payment.

We can register you and look after your taxation issues on the Costa del Sol. Assistance and advice. Contact

Setting up a business
There are many differing types of business (SL, SLL, etc) in Spain and the process can be time consuming. In most cases, the following steps are required:

  • Register your business name with the Spanish Registro Mercantil Central.
  • Open a business bank account and deposit the minimum, depending on the business type.
  • Apply for the business tax number (CIF) from the Spanish tax authorities (Delegacion de Hacienda). The form (modelo 037) can be found here.
  • Prepare the statutes for your company and have them signed in front of a public notary.
  • Pay the asset transfer tax (Impuesto de Transmisiones Patrimoniales y Actos Juridicos Documentados) at your local Spanish tax office.
  • Register your company statutes at the Registro Mercantil within 2 months of them being signed by the public notary.
  • Complete the formal declaration to your Spanish tax office that you are starting your business activities. The form (modelo 036) can be found here.
